Restored 1989 Honda CR500R
This classic 1989 Honda CR500 was built to race with all the good stuff, but has only been a showroom bike since I’ve taken ownership of it.
Engine:
Fully rebuilt with like new engine cases. New bearings and seals throughout. New crank. Cylinder has been ported and bored to a 91mm bore with a Wiseco piston. Making this a 514cc engine. Decompression valve was professionally machined to cylinder head for easier starting.
Hinson clutch. Intake spacer with a V-Force intake system with a Keihin Air Striker Carburetor.
Brand new Pro Circuit Works edition exhaust pipe with a factory Pro Circuit silencer.
Suspension:
Ohlins front forks with billet aluminum triple clamps. Ohlins rear shock. Polished aluminum rear swing arm that has all new bearings and linkage. Suspension was done by Coppersmith Racing. They are the go to specialists for Ohlins suspension in the U.S.
Wheels & Tires:
New Excel rims wrapped with Dunlop Tires
New MX14 “scoop tire” on rear.
Brakes:
Newer style front brakes with oversized front.
rotor. New stainless brake lines.
Frame & Bodywork:
Nice straight frame that has no dents or dings in the frame rails. Aluminum frame guards.
All new plastic with all new graphics. Tank is original and was polished and restored with a beautiful shine to look new again. Brand new seat with cover.
Handlebars & Controls:
Renthal 1 1/8 oversized handlebars with Renthal grips. Arc clutch lever system. Pro Circuit oversized foot pegs.
